Today, we’re officially taking our first steps into the world as Twenty 46 Studios.
Born from the crossroads of music, film, and immersive storytelling, we are an independent, self publishing video game development house striving to reintroduce deep emotion and human experience to games. Our goal is to create powerful, emotive journeys for players who want more than just gameplay, but an immersive, sensory experience.
We aren’t bringing the most groundbreaking high fidelity graphics, seven figure budgets and endless scripts. Instead, we’re capturing our entire soundtrack on a 1980s 8-track tape recorder where the music feels richer, warmer, more human, and the format makes each demo tape an irreplaceable, one-of-a-kind original… and really, that encapsulates our ethos perfectly.
Founded by Studio Director Al Hardiman, we are a team of artists, musicians, programmers and enthusiasts brought together through personal connections, friendship and a shared vision. We don’t want to make games you play, we want to make games you feel.
Al himself brings decades of eclectic experiences from the world of music and film. Having performed with artists like Bonobo, Radiohead, Florence Welch and The Who, as well as composing soundtracks for incredible cinematic experiences across film and television, he now leads Twenty 46 as the creative force behind our upcoming projects coming to PC, Consoles and VR platforms.
Our currently unannounced debut project will explore introspection, connection and self-discovery through a kaleidoscope of music and colour in a mind-bending sonic odyssey through your psyche. Project codename: #LDBH
We’re not building something that tells you what to feel. We’re building something that just lets you feel it – on your own terms… A space where narrative isn’t handed to you, but slowly uncovered, like a memory you’re grasping to recover from behind a long closed door in the recesses of your mind.
We’ll be sharing more soon about the world we’re creating, the inspirations behind it, and the ways we’re inviting players to help shape it. But for now, we just want to say: thanks for being here at the very start. Consider sticking around and joining us on this incredible journey.
Here’s to new beginnings.
